Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 tbsp butter

1/2 chopped white onion

3 cloves chopped garlic

1 cup mixed frozen vegetables

1 can mushroom soup

1/2 cup milk

1 pinch pepper

Potato Top

4 cups peeled, chopped potatoes

1/4 cup butter

1 tsp seasoning salt

1 pinch pepper

1 cup milk

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a large frying pan cook ground beef fully breaking into small pieces. Remove beef from frying pan and set aside.

Heat butter in the frying pan and add in onion and garlic and cook till softened. Add in frozen vegetables I used carrot, green beans and corn. Continue cooking and return beef into the pan. Add in the mushroom soup, pepper and milk cook till mixture has heated thoroughly and slightly thickened.

Boil a large pot of water. Once water is boiling add in potatoes and cook till softened. Drain water from the potatoes. Add milk, butter, pepper and seasoning salt to the potatoes and mash till smooth.

Empty beef mixture into a 13" x 9" casserole dish. Spread mashed potatoes evenly on top of the beef mixture.

Bake shepherd's pie in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and potatoes are slightly browned.
